SCM Purchasing Specialist (LA)

 1. Job title : SCM Purchasing Specialist

2. Location : LA, CA

3. Job Duties / Responsibilities: 

• Manages purchasing of food goods from overseas by container, communication w/Sales, Korea SCM/Purchasing Dept, and Logistics

• Analyzes and forecasts product purchasing volumes, and creates purchase orders based on sales volume, demand planning, and inventory level

• Reports to forecast future needs and manage purchasing and inventory

• Calculates product's supply costs to secure profit margin

• Frequently reviews inventory for discrepancies, in/outbound orders, slow selling items, and short life items and works with Sales, 3PL for resolutions

• Problem-solving with freight forwarder and Q/A Team if any customs issue raised

• Evaluates and assures the qualities of received items are consistent with purchase orders

• Keep track of daily shipments and receive and maintain accurate records and accurate distribution of products to customers and projects.

• Must be a team player with a positive attitude

• Other duties as required

 

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:


• Bachelor’s Degree(SCM, Business, Economics or related) required

• English/Korean bilingual speaking preferred

• 4+ years of purchasing, importing experience preferred

• Previous food service distribution and/or food importing experience preferred

• Have a sense of urgency and be able to work under pressure, be comfortable in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment

• Willingness to travel in USA under 10%

• Possesses mathematical knowledge such as markups, discounts, counting inventory, weight and measurement conversions, combining, Container Cubic, etc.

• Strong follow-up, organizational and analytical skills

• Demonstrates Microsoft Office proficiency

• Knowledge of ERP systems, especially SAP preferred
